Here is a repeat from a favorite that is only a queen, but it goes edge to edge on our king bed and is the first big quilt that I made many moons ago. The blocks are 6" and it represents a Scottish hillside. It is soft after lots of curling up in and a few trips through the wash, but as bright as it was back in the day even though I used inexpensive fabric before realizing there was such things as quilt stores and far better options.

You have made quite a few 'big' quilts lately. When you said "only a queen size" on an old favorite I had to chuckle because I have scaled down a lot in the size of quilts I am making now.
Now THAT is a lovely landscape quilt, different than any that I've seen. Sure shows off your artistic self.
My plan to scale down got turned around when I offered to make quilts for refugees. Some of them are couples so need a queen. Since they are coming from hotter climates, they will need a nice warm reception! I'll post a photo asap. My favorite size is about 60 x 60!
